Dash Board Designs!

I noticed the dash board designs on the technical page are pretty poor so i paid Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£3 on ebay and got some ones from there, and to you i give them free

i think there are some centre console ones in here as well.You have my grace to update the technical section with these drawings!

We already have 2 of them. The Boot board is MF original work and the centre console was done by one of our members who gave us permission to host it. I feel some one wants to have a word with ebay/the seller as that's just plain theft.

btw the dashboard designs arent on minifinity...please update that because the dash design you have atm doesnt have any clock dimensions and is onli half

Sorry but no, they aren't ours to post with out permission. Hense why we are so angry at them selling our stuff.

But surely i paid for them so technically they are mine. Just put them up, if anyone has a go i will take full responsability, they are good diagrams and should be given out for free...

Right this is really quite simple...

I dont give a toss about the dashboard designs. Copyright law does not work on the principle of 'surely I paid for them so technically they are mine' - if that were the case, then any music that I buy is mine - woohoo I own half of the Beatles back catalogue and can do with it what I wish. Great, I bought a film on DVD the other day - luckily I now own the image rights to all of that...

The boot liner plan was created by Gilesy and provided free of charge on MF for members. The fact that someone is selling our (yours too as a member) intellectual property is wrong. In even simpler terms, the other 2 drawings that you have posted belong to someone else and using them without their permission is wrong. I think if you did a trawl of the mini sites, you would probably find the other 2 diagrams as well.

Therefore - we will not be updating anything.

ok, i have a plan, what if i remake the designs, change the colours round a bit

Then can you update them?

Btw i checked my ebay, its not in there anymore so im affraid i am of no help

i would have thought that if you re-make them, and change the design in some way, then that isnt fraudulant. raysmuckles, whats your thoughts??

I'm personally offended by the fact someone's profiting my work, that I did in my own time for the good of MF's members. We have the original PDFs without someone else's edits on this very site, and I have the the original CAD plans that the PDFs were created from. Incidentally, there's also the 3D mock-up of the assembled liner kit that I never got round to adding. This is detailed on my computer as last modified 02 November 2005, so it's pretty obvious to whom it belongs.
I'd be most grateful if you could pass on the details of the seller so I can take the appropriate action.

can u make up some plans for the dash, as detailed as the ones in the pdf above because the ones we got now are a bit crap if you dont mind me saying. I am looking into who sold me them dw!

I would like have a go at improving what we've got, but I'm not dropping to the level of what we're dicussuing here. Plaigarism is an offence I'm not prepared to get minifinity done for.
Also, none of us do this full-time, nor do we get paid for it, so we can only do it when the opportunity arises

I have just had a quick count up. The 1st page (only goes as far as the 1st Nov) and there's 10 buyers of the plans at Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£3 a pop.

44 sold since the 2nd September, and god only knows how many before that, seeing as the listing has a rhubarb copyright marker showing 2006. That's AT LEAST Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£132.44, made from US and probably people like us, in the case of the dashes :evil:

I'm now actually prepared to make this legal if I have to.

Another of our members is in a similar situation with his centre console plans.
We gave the documents to the Club, for the free use of its members - not for someone's financial gain.
In your listing you make the statement ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œPlease be aware of ebay scammers they are copying my listing remember to buy your mini plans from flogustuffÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬?, yet the product youÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢re selling is merely a (poor quality) copy of ours, and plagiarism is a serious legal offence.

). If you did, could you possible email me them so I can check them out?

I have no problem with people selling plans of stuff we don't have, but blatantly copying our free work for a profit is something I'm reet miffed about.

Also - Case & Rudi, could you guys pm me please. I'm going to send an email out to the two major mini publications to help nip this in the bud, and your input would be helpful.

I've contacted Simon at Minispares too, as I *suspect* that the arch fitting templates being sold belong to them.

That other seller's come back to me, very quick service. Should be mind, seeing as he's not had to waste any time in making the plans - they're ours again, with his own page header, and filenames like "MY_OWN_boot_liner_plans.pdf". Ball locks, tbh, and it means we're chasing tow of the rhubarbers.

Edit - Scrap that, it's the same guy with a different ebay ID. Both of his emails come with the same readme attachment -
"THESE PLANS ARE COPYRIGHTED YOU HAVE BOUGHT THE RIGHT TO
USE THESE PLANS.
YOU MAY NOT RESELL THESE PLANS DISTRIBUTE OR GIVE THEM AWAY.
REGARDS
MINIMARK(or FLOGUSTUFF)"
