Help Wheel Arches?!?!?!

Postby M1N1C00P1275 » Wed 6th Feb 2008, 03:19pm

 PLease Help

I have got a 1991 Mini Cooper, I bought a set of sports pack wheel arches didnt realize i have got to modify the wing to fit them and have painted the wings,

i dont know if u do have to modify the wings for sure i read it on plminis becauase they were offering a template cutting guide for fitting sportspac wheel arches

if i do have to does any one KNow of any other arches that look simlar that i dont have to modify the wings to fit , also i will be fitting ultralite extremes 7x13s
so the two main questions
1Q have got to modify the wing to fit the sports pack arches ?
2Q does any one know of any other arches that look simlar and will cover my 7x13 and mean that dont have to modify the wings?

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks..... :D

Hi

You will have to modify the wings to fit those wheels anyway so unless you are going to go for different wheels as well I don't think alternative arches will help.

There are a few designs of arch you could look at that will cover the wheels like the miglia style ones, Grp5 or Grp 2 wide arches etc but like I said you will still have to cut the wings or those wheels will rub.

The wheels will rub as they are quite a lot wider than the standard wheels.

Anything 6 inches or wider will probably mean a certain amount of the wing will have to be trimmed.

Anything less than 6 or 7 inches will not be wide enough to fill Sportspack arches in my opinion.

The fact that you have painted the wings shouldn't be a problem as the area you will need to cut will be hidden by the arch.

Hope that helps

You can download the templates for free somewhere, I'll have look.

EDIT: On the minispares website, click on "downloads" on the top right and iirc there were free teplates in there once you had registered.
