how much paint to spray a mini?

as title says, i have no idea how much i gonna need! priority just the outside but would like to do inside too. depends how much i need.

2 litres should do it, with some to spare if u dont mess it up, which is very easy to do, believe me!

That depends on the paint. And whether you use primer. I'm using approximately 8 litres of primer, and 10 litres of paint on Toad. That is cellulose. With 2 pack you can use less, with cellulose, the more you get on the better the finish you can get....

yeah hes bang on, i was only on about top coat 2k. generally speaking tho the more u can get the better.

how much would you say it would cost me to have mine stripped, primed then sprayed the same again?

ruffly? i dont want it concorse, but i also dont want it to flake off in a years time?

£500? £1000?

do a search for a paint distributor near you, you can get it off ebay as well, but i dont know how good that is. mine cost about 100 quid, thats for the primer, 2l of 2pak gloss black, thinners and hardener.

call teeside motores in billingham 01642 562211, i know its a long way away but the prop Ian Jonson [ministorm racing] is a top bloke and an excelent painter at not rip off prices.
he painted my car .

for a full-body respray, including strip-down + prep - I'd guess closer to £1500

then you'll bring the price down a LOT :wink:


if you can manage to properly prep the car (which is the most difficult part of spraying a car beleive it or not) then you should easily be able to bring the price down to around £400
